25% of 42 is 10.5. Check the math. and amount of gasoline refined from oil is a matter of physical chemistry not oil company manipulation. Depends upon quality of the crude base product. And no I don't work for an oil company. just have some common knowledge of hydrocarbon chemistry and basic math.

I do not work for the oil companies, but I have done some research on this matter. The efficiency % is closely tied to (a) the quality fo the crude oil and (b) the level of refining complexity. In most cases, you can refine more gasoline from oil using more and more expensive techniques that make the gasoline more and more expensive...

do you work fo the oil companies? last I read only about 25% of a barrel of crude is made into gasoline, which is bascially a by product!
so if we look at 25% of 42 gallons is comes out o be 14 gallons of crude goes to making gas and you are saying that they only get 2.1 to 12.6 gallons of gas per barrel seems to me they could do away with the gas problems by spending more money on efficency instead of putting out facts that are skewed at best and out right lies
