Arcosanti

In preparing to move to Palo Alto, I found this photo from my days at Arcosanti, an experimental city in the desert of Arizona. For multiple periods in the late 1980′s and again in the mid 1990′s, I spent time at Arcosanti, usually helping with menial construction labor. I continue to respect many of the ideals supported, including frugality, habitat conservation, energy self-sufficiency, and intelligent urban design.

I would be very curious to learn more about your project to build an Arcosanti type utopia. I too live in the bay area and would be very happy to contribute to the expirement.
