This message is inscribed on a building here in Amsterdam. Interesting is the concept of coupling love and service. Do the two go hand in hand? Is there a balance between the two… Can that balance be disrupted?

Remember that before New Amsterdam (NY,NY), this Amsterdam was the root of one of the first global enterprise trees, very early in European colonialism.
The sentiment left unwritten there was “…for a fee…” The balance here is whatever the market will bear. Globalization merely allows the local market to be influenced by that metaphorical “all” above.
Window shopping in Amsterdam? As a capitalist, you should have recognized this indication of the oldest profession. The Ladies & their red lights should have given that signage a little less ‘universal’ weight.
It is a nice thought though, beyond that historical context.
