TheFunded.com received a frustrated email from an approved Member today (which is a first), addressing the composition of the invitation email:
You don’t even have a mail domain as thefunded.com – Should I really trust this email ?
TheFunded.com processes all Membership applications using Gmail account. There is a very deliberate reason for this, outlined below in my reply:
So that you know, the reason that we do not use TheFunded.com domain for email is for anonymity. All accounts are 100% anonymous – no IP addresses, no email addresses, no details on a Member are stored.
By handling the Membership applications and email in a third party solution, the Membership records are not maintained on servers owned or operated by TheFunded.com. If operating records of TheFunded.com is subpoenaed in an attempt to penetrate the anonymity of the site, email records would need to be solicited from Google.
Google has an excellent record protecting privacy. Second, Gmail is one of the only web email system that strips IP addresses out of the email header, which adds further protections. Thank you.
Most decisions with TheFunded.com have been very deliberate. Nothing was rushed, and no expenses were spared when appropriate. The fact that a generic email provider was chosen is just one of many decisions.
