Integrated Monitoring

A friend of mine sent me the following quote:

Most existing monitoring tools are ugly plugs with lame LCD screens and while some companies, namely Tendril (http://www.tendrilinc.com/) and Greenbox (http://www.getgreenbox.com/) are taking a more integrated and systematic approach.

This is an interesting area in the transition from electron based power systems to future alternatives. One of the most interesting alternatives to me is the concept of bio energy or bio replacements. For example, instead of burning a filment using electrons to create light, why not use a bioluminescence process that proceeses human waste and carbon dioxide into carbon waste…

One Response to Integrated Monitoring

  1. Kevin says:

Before we create biomes of luminescent animal & vegetable homes & networks, perhaps you might want to consider ‘bridge’ technologies, like wind & solar, as well as CNG, Hydrogen, and other fuels.

The big push today is of course the Pickens Plan, but there are others as well. Start there, and follow the links outwards from that massive movement (142,953 Members at this moment, and gaining about 30 per hour this evening). Of those already current members, roughly 20,000 are professionals with experience in the fields of alternative energy.

    A few biologists too.
